Pants and whimpers

Pants
My pants broke tonight. You can see where the back pocket separated from the seat, leaving a long, visible, and potentially humiliating hole that forced me to leave work to go home and change.

I call bullshit on these pants. I didn't ask too much of them. I've only had them since September, I didn't launder them that often, they weren't tight, and I didn't do much in them besides sit around at work. Despite all that, they fell apart, and at a very inconvenient time.

You know, pants can serve many functions, but they are primarily designed to cover the ass. These failed to meet even that one basic requirement, so they are no longer pants. I condemn them. They are dead to me.

I would also like to offer a warning: no matter how cheap or cute they might be, do not ever buy pants from Old Navy.

unfortunately, i learned that fateful lesson with old navy jeans quite a while back. it also applies to their pajamas, as well.

New Levi's suck just as bad. I've already holes in a pair that are just 1 year old. What the hell. There was a time when Levi's didn't develop holes until their 4th year. I sent Levi's an email about that and they just don't care. No response.

Those kids had better learn to make better clothes!

i had a pair of pants fail me once while playing mini golf. i have never really fully forgiven them.

this one bartender keeps swearing by diesel. apparently if you buy a pair and for any reason they tear or get messed up, just send them back and diesel will repair or replace them for free. however, for $200 pants, i'd expect the repaired pants to be delivered to my door or workplace by a singing-telegram stripping clown on a donkey with four tails and a pair of wings. but maybe that's just my erratically frugal nature.

Colleen's right. What the hell are they paying those little Cambodian kids fifty cents a day for?

Sigh.

I'm going Carhart.

i have those same pants. they got a hole the second time i wore them, near one of the belt loops.

but i'm wearing them today anyway.

Oh, don't you hate that? Next time you find good pants, buy a few pair. Hey, if they're Old Navy, you can afford to!

I would be caught dead with a new pair of Levi's on me . Long live American Levi's .
